Iceland

Check out this gorgeous Sigur Rós video. It's called Viðrar vel til loftárása (or "Good Weather for Airstrikes" for anyone who didn't pay attention during Icelandic class in high school).

Why is everyone and everything from Iceland so beautiful and weird? Does it have something to do with the fact that there are no trees? Or perhaps a combination of geo-thermal activity and whale consumption which addles the brain? Whatever the reason, all signs say "Get thee to a Björkery!" — I hear Icelandair offers cheap stopovers on its flights from North America to Europe. Maybe I can arrange something when I'm enroute to Paris this fall... (assuming I ever get my school documents sorted out).

And as a sidenote, why are European passport stamps so lame-o and boring? I know most Europeans are too busy smoking cigarettes and getting laid to worry about dull-as-dishwater passport stamps, but really, can't they even pretend like they're trying?

I want to go to Iceland with you. That would be so much fun, I'd even eat half a goat head while I was there.

Maybe we should go to Iceland to say our farewell to you!! Everyone parties there and you continue on to Gay Paris.

I hear they love goat's head cheese and raw, rotten shark carcass in Iceland. Mmmmn.

MA- Provided I ever get my school stuff sorted out, sure let's all go Iceland, hunt Björks on the tundra, watch teen soccer porn and eat disgusting food.

Seriously, check it out: Icelandic Food. Yuck.

iceland is definitely on my "To Shag..." list. aside from placing a very specific personal, i think my safest bet is to just go there and 'do my best, darling!' count me in...

Ohhhhhh *shudder* at least they have rye bread.

Seriously, could the food be any more un-appealing-sounding? The fact that they start out the list with 'rotten shark'and it only gets worse from there is probably one of the reasons they are all so coo-coo in Iceland.

Very hot though.

You should def give it a try, i went to reykjavik for a few days, took in the "golden shower' tour. So not what it sounds like. Saw waterfalls, earthquake central towns, geyser and a beach where the next point of land is all the way down at the south pole. Plus of course the blue lagoon, even if you only have a teeny tiny stop over in keflavik you can still get a bus to the lagoon for some warmy warmy swim time. You might have to sell a kidney or three to afford it though
