Harry Potter and le Moulin des Secrètes

Recently, I decided to re-read all the Harry Potter books before going on to read the final book in the series. Since I was going to the effort, I thought I might as well re-read them in French, to get some extra language practice. I get to learn all kinds of words like 'broomstick' (manche à balai) and 'cauldron' (chaudron). –Bet you didn't know that Hogwarts was called 'Poulard' in French.

I just finished 'Arry Pottèr à l'école des sorciers (as Philosopher's Stone is known here), and came across this, which I'm sure you'll appreciate as much as I did.

Enjoy!

Brokeback by the Bell

I have to now come out and admit that when I was a young, impressionable gay, I had many a porno fantasy about Zak and Slater getting it on in the high school change rooms.

With sexy, sexy shows like this, it's no wonder that everyone's a homo nowadays.

I wish I knew how to quit you

Introducing a new section for your consideration: Mockback Mountain. I make no qualms about the absurd ridiculousness of the whole thing, but there is just so much material out there, hungry for an outlet.

Here I present to you the first in a series of exercises in preposterousology, Callback On Me Mountain.

For those of you unfamiliar with the classic Eric Prydz Call On Me aerobics video, here is the original version: (Warning may not be suitable for all viewers, young children or nelly queens).

And here Callback Mountain. Enjoy!

Four Gay Weddings and an Intervention

Alternate Title: "Why I Hate Stephen Harper So Much"

So, although I am a continent away, I still hate Stephen Harper and the asinine Conservative Party very much. Despite the fact that polls showed that the majority of Canadians supported equal marriage, and an even larger majority oppose reopening the issue in Parliament, our joke of a Prime Minister has taken it upon himself to make Parliament vote again on this issue.

Now, the pro-equal marriage side is likely win again, and even if it didn't, legal experts have said that taking away these rights would now be unconstitutional. But, it's important to let your MPs know how you feel. Mostly they hear from right-wing crazys, so letting them hear the views of the silent majority is key. Please take ten seconds to visit equal-marriage.ca which has ready-made emails to send off to your MP regarding equal marriage. I appreciate it.

On a lighter note, who do you think will get gay married first; Tom and Brandon, or Ian and James?

Also on a lighter note; check out "Brokeback to the Future". Awesome.
