World Cup Madness!

So I am really liking my new apartment, it's a fun older building, wood floors, high ceilings, etc. feels very New York. it's on a side street that connects Little Italy to Portugal Village, so barely a day has gone by in the past two weeks without a parade of honking cars and cheering people celebrating all the World Cup victories of those two countries til the wee hours of the night.

Being back in Toronto during the World Cup is great because there's people from all over the world, flags hanging from windows and car antennas. Pretty much any time any country wins there are people celebrating in some part of the city, which is really cool.

I'm supporting Mexico, which barely managed to squeek into the next round, despite playing all of thier games very well and some absolutely terrible refereeing against them in thier game against Portugal yesterday. Now they have to play against Argentina. Fingers crossed ¡México olé!

In other news, I went for an interview at a placement agency, so she said she had some jobs which looked suited for me. I should hear back in a few days. Fingers crossed again.

Also, this weekend is Gay Pride in Toronto. Should be very gay. I'm looking forward to it.

I can't stand those flags that people have attached to the top of their cars. I want to rip them all out and jump on them.

Happy Pride!!!

ash, you only hate the flags 'cause you're a racist.

my geekosity is maximised however --i love it! jenni even phoned me the other day with a flag-related question. (the answer was angola --who have a bitchin flag in my opinion).

Happy pride *even though i sent that email already*...there is a big lebanese community here in windsor, but I dont know if they have a soccer team...im not watching, and amy only 100% for sure that germany and england, and italy have teams. Oh, and now mexico, cause you said so in your blog...Ole!

But everytime italy plays, its an uproar in little italy here...quite exciting, to see the old men, with socks and sandals, sitting on their driveways (or in garages) with a shit load of their friends, barbequing, and screaming in italian...i enjoy it, and it makes me miss my grandparents....

PP-- i don't think lesbians play a lot of soccer -usually they usually are into things like golf, lacross and fixing motorbikes.

mexico got kicked out by stupid argentina on saturday. mexico dominated the first half, but when the game was tied and went into extra time, they seemed to be lacking the stamina to carry through.

oh well, i'll be cheering for england to kick stupid argentina's gaucho ass next week.
