For your enjoyal...

Since so many people missed it, I thought I'd post this pic of myself with a beard. For health reasons, I was forced to grow out my beard, and what you see here represents about two weeks growth. Thankfully I was able to shave it off shortly thereafter. It was the most annoying, itchy thing ever and I have no idea how some people (like my dad), can walk around with one every day. I doubt very much that I will ever grow it out again.

I love this picture however. I think my super-glam friend Alanna and I look like student radicals from a militant Basque terrorist cell, circa 1972. Very smooth.

I love the photo and you do look radicals....

Why for health reasons? I"m not quite comprehending that part....

Oh. My. God.
This is SO a Vice Magazine "DO"!!
At first, you're like "Damn, I didn't want to have my picture taken tonight." Then, it's like, "Bitch, you know you want it!" And, of course, Alannah is the hotness.
Way to rock the Dad-from-Family-Ties look!
Loves it.

dan ... super hot photo. but strangely you look younger than i remember you, although aren't beards supposed to make you look older?

ash- i had to stop shaving because i got shingles (which is a re-activation of the dormant chicken pox virus in your body).

most people who get shingles get it on their torso, but i had the happy pleasure of having it on my face. no fun. at least the beard covered up most of the unsightly sores.

no fun indeed.

Maybe the shingles made the beard less comfortable than it would have been under other circumstances.
You do look like a student radical, reminds me of pictures of people's parents in the 70s.
Jase, you should send a sample to Vice, they might hire you, that was hilarious.
When I first saw the picture I thought it was 2 days of growth, taken just after you got back from Algonquin park.

jenni--
two days growth? please, you've lived with me long enought to know that even though i have five o'clock shadow about ten minutes after i shave, my hair doesn't grow that fast.

i don't think the shingles had anything to do with the uncomfortableness of the beard as the whole beard was insanely itchy, not just the half of my face that had the singles.

basically, beards really suck.
