several reasons i dont think its funny...
1. flat out...the song was hilarious in the original form...the fact that it was a number 1 single only adds to the hilarity and is a testament to everything alanis is trying to achieve in her "ironic" version..no paraody was necessary...americans are stupid enough to let fergie rule the charts, lets all point and laugh at them
2. alanis is a cash cow. she really isnt much more than avril lavigne at this point. alanis morissette only has 4 studio albums - after her second she releases a live album - then a bside collection after her third - THEN a acoustic version of her complete first album - MAKES AN EXCLUSIVITY deal with STARBUCKS for 8 weeks of this lame-ass albums debut- THEN releases a greatest hits after...with a lame cover of seals crazy....
yet i own all but the last greatest hits cause i couldnt justify spending 20 bucks for only one song that dave already had on GAP INC cd ...i guess i just didnt really consider her that kind of artist, just feels desperate
there are more reasons as well but i feel already really lame for writing this (seeing as i know u all think its the bees knees) so ill bow out now
